With every team that I've coached from the 6yr. old kids in lacrosse and ice hockey thru the high school teams that have gone all the way there remains one thing that the better teams all have in common-they talk. Listen to the banter during the NCAA Basketball tournaments, they all communicate and by talking they help their teammates during offensive, defensive and transitional circumstances.
OK, now the printing part. As a sales rep, a CSR, the lead prep person or the pressroom manager we all need to talk. Even more important today as lead times are escalated, specs are fuzzier (that's a technical term...) and the market continues to challenge even the best. Take a good hard look at how much your team talks to one another. Do they back each other up, do they handle the pressure at both end of the ice... I mean plant?
If your team isn't talking like you think it should, perhaps you need to make this a higher priority in your daily activities.
